My goodness, I’m in love.

This is the perfect coat for 70% of Seattle days… okay, it’s probably closer to 80%, but it does get rather cold in winter, so it could be debated. Anyway, I love love love the details and shape of this lovely piece by Etsy seller, LittleHouse.

Can you just imagine the abundance of brilliant looks this skirt could be used for? I can! A plain white T-Shirt, and some heels, or satin flats, or even sandals and you have effortless chic. Dress it up or dress it down, it’s lovely and put together in almost any setting.

happy tape

Happy indeed!

I am salivating over the brilliant colors and combinations here… yes I know it’s tape. I always thought it was sad and/or weird that my favorite kind of shopping growing up was school supply shopping. I love that I can now rejoice in it with fellow arts & crafts lovers. There’s nothing like a brand new set of colored pencils, crayons, paper, etc… just itching to be used for pictures, stories, etc…

But the dust seems to have settled, at least enough to manage, and I am now gainfully employed, as a nanny for an adorable (and currently sleeping) 5 month old boy, and frosting cupcakes at Seattle’s original cupcake bakery. Yes I do realize I win the girliest job(s) award.

Anyways, I want to start a new “feature” if you will. I said from the beginning that this blog was intended to be a place to catch all my creative inspirations, so I’m going to start posting little things as I come across them. Which brings me to the title of this post. You see to me, a “Little Little” is a little something that stirs up joy and sparks excitement. A small, tangible evidence of God’s love for me in providing creativity and art around me for inspiration and to remind me that He is indeed the author of creativity. Just look around at what He made!

So in similar fashion to the lovely Melanie of “You are my Fave”, I’ll be posting little things that brighten my day under the tittle of Little Little’s, or LL’s.

I opened the door and the first thing my eye saw was this:

Rather than the window, it was on a dress form in the entry of the boutique and honestly I think it was even more amazing in person and on a form rather than spread over the bench. Regardless, I was awestruck. Over a dress I know, but the art of it was so beautiful. The dress borderlines on that slightly too crazy to be practical but still not so overdone or crazy that it’s not wearable, if of course you have the right event. And honestly what couture dress isn’t a little unpractical?

Anyways, I just wanted to share the breathtaking piece of art I was blessed to enjoy today.

Oh and as for the job, the delightful young lady I gave my resume to said they did just so happen to be hiring, and seemed to really like my resume. It’d be truly a privilege to work for a local Seattle designer as fabulous as Luly. I’ll keep you posted…

I’ve been wanting some good sized, good feeling coffee mugs with saucers, much like the ones I regularly enjoy at Verite [picture below!], but preferably a bit daintier feeling. I’ve been wanting to regularly brew french press at home for some time now, but as ridiculous as it sounds, it never quite feels right in any of the hodge podge of souvenier mugs we have around the house. I even added some plain white ones that look about right to my wish list during Christmas time.

Creature Comforts tweeted about the yellow one pictured above and it reminded me of my quest for good coffee cups, along with my love of all things floral prints and yellow right now and I got to thinking… maybe it’s time for a trip to paint the town?

Yeah, let’s file this one under “things to do after I find a job and therefore have an income.”

Wow.

Hailing from our great neighbor Portland, Oregon and reminding me a bit of beloved PR winner Leanne, I am drooling up a storm over the indescribably amazing designs she has for sale over at her etsy store.

Take this dress for example:

It’s possible that I have a major thing for tailored fleece. I usually just can’t afford it, this being no exception given the current *ahem* unemployed and in debt status. But nonetheless I can’t get enough of the details on this dress. 

and another:

I absolutely LOVE that skirt, and I love the muted, feminine shirt and sweater paired with the bright and shiny skirt. Perfectly done, slightly ecclectic [my favorite] overall look. Makes me want to go buy some ultra shiny yellow fabric and attempt to make a similar skirt. Oh that’s right, I still need a sewing machine… and to learn how to sew. Back to J Crew…

When I was at The Grove in L.A. last weekend, I took a brief minute to stop into J Crew after being drawn to the sight of a gray and yellow printed pencil skirt [which I don't see anywhere online, or I would provide a link to it] and all this to say, I was quite impressed with everything I saw. I have always liked J Crew, but it has been rare that I have loved anything J Crew. It seems this spring collection, and the early spring stuff they already have in stores is striking the fashion chord in me.

Oh, btw, the look pictured isn’t available until March.

I will also be attempting to make my own version using some buttons I picked up at the fabric store yesterday. The buttons were only 60 cents! Talk about cheap earrings! I’ll upload pics when the project is complete.
